Sweeps

I have been trying my hand at Sweepstakes.  I feel like since my life is complete crazy it gives me some control.

Did you just read that right? Yes. You did.

Fine, I can't control if I can win or not. But I can control how many I enter and if I enter short or long sweeps and sweeps with lots or few entrants.  It sounds silly but its fun and it gives me some minor control.

I have won too! Its pretty exciting. I won at Atomic-Mama and Ma Nouvelle Mode. Go check them out.  They are both pretty rad.

I've only wanted one some they announces that apple was coming our with one. However I never has AT&T. I wasn't a particular fan of their service.

When Verizon finally got the contract I had no money. I have finally bit the bullet and it is glorious.

My mom wanted to know if it's been life changing since apparently everyone at her work says it is. Although admittedly it's awesome to no longer have to wear a nasty hair band on my wrist to remember which boob I fed off last, it's not exactly life changing. I sure am happy though.

Is there a rule in pediatics medicine that the nurse should assume that the parent calling is hopelessly stupid and treat them as such? If I call after 4 weeks of breastfeeding saying my kid has diarrhea please dont explain to me how breast fed babies have runny poop - i think i picked that up in the last month.

In the begining i was struggling with being a new mom.  I still am but I def would have enough time to blog if I hadn'tn gone all Hulk smash on my Mac and shattered the screen.

Apparently all will be right with the world shortly.  If you will excuse me, now I have to stop ignoring a screaming child.

Our little lady was born on July 26th at 7:41am.  She was two days early.

I started labor on Sunday at 3am. Contractions were 20 min apart, so there was nothing to do.  By monday the contractions were 8 min apart.  After a few hours I called my midwife to let her know my contractions were consistently 8 min apart and consistent timable contractions had been going on for over 24 hours.  They had my come in to make sure I was actually in labor.  The minute I was hooked up on the machine the contractions started for over an hour.  I was convinced it had been false labor but in reality the labor stalled out.  Because 10 minutes after leaving the midwife's office they started up again and within 6 hours my water had broken.

My water actually broke during the x-files around 9pm.  That episode where Mulder and Scully are buried underground being digested by plants.  When the hallucinate escaping my water broke.  I called the doctor but after the afternoon's events I was afraid to go in and be issued a frequent flyer card.  I called my midwife and she told me to go in so I did as I was told.  By 11 I was admitted. I got an epi and pitocin, since I hadn't slept since 3am on sunday night.  I got 3 hours of sleep, watched 2 episodes of an SVU marathon and during the 3rd episode we realized she was crowning.  The little miss was born while the episode of SVU where Clarissa Explain's it All rapes Beaver from Veronica Mars (I think.. I didn't catch the end, I was busy).  TH almost missed it because she came in 6 minutes and he was calling my parents to tell them to head over.

She is beautiful and perfect even though she hasn't slept in 2 days.

pre labor contractions suck

Labor isn't like the movies.  Most people's water doesn't just break. They have days or weeks of consistent, painful contractions that are 10-20 min apart before active labor.

Forget sex ed vs. abstinence, just teach that in health class.

Some teen flipped me off last night (because he was a douche and i told him off). Apparently when his highness crosses the street the stop line at the red light is to close to him. You must stop further back.  He tilted his hand sideways and left his thumb up. Although I flipped him off back TH and I couldn't stop laughing.  what the eff is that??? Its not the finger if you leave up two.

TH: "we have got to teach our daughter how to flip someone off."
Me:"is there any doubt our kid wont know how?"
DH:"yea but how to do it right. i don't ever want to see her do that shit."
